Frequently Asked Questions

How big is the pool?
Our pool is the perfect size to learn in! Purposely designed to be large enough to learn in, but small enough to not be intimidating. 10m long, 5m wide, 1m deep, (with an option to be even shallower for those that need it)
What temperature is the pool
The pool is maintained at an ideal teaching temperature of 32 degrees. Lovely and warm!
How do I pay?
Lessons are paid for in batches of 10 with flexible payment options to make life easier for you.
What do I do if I can’t make it one week?
No need to get in touch, we’ll mark your child as absent and look forward to seeing you back at the pool the following week. Our lessons are structured to give individual tuition within a class environment so we’ll work to get you back up to speed as quick as we can. Unfortunately, we have the same overhead costs to meet regardless of attendance therefore unable to give a refund or credit for any missed lessons.
What happens if my lesson is cancelled?
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your lesson due to unforeseen circumstances the missed class will be credited to your swim account and your next payment will be adjusted accordingly. You won’t loose out!
What should I bring to the lessons?
Swimsuit, towel, & goggles. Swim nappies must be worn where appropriate. All teaching equipment will be provided.
Can I spectate at the lessons?
Yes, you are able to view the lessons directly through our viewing window, or why not just relax, enjoy a complimentary coffee from the comfort of our lounge and spectate from there, (it also has activities to keep any younger siblings occupied too!).
Are there baby changing facilities?
Yes, our oversized changing cubicles are designed to make life that little bit easier for parents and all equipped with a changing table. A small softplay area in the changing room allows parents to get changed after their Adult and baby/toddler lessons while their little ones safely play.
Can I have a trial lesson?
We unfortunately don’t offer a trial lesson purely because we know from experience it can sometimes take a swimmer afew lessons to “settle in”, which a trial lesson doesn’t give them enough time to do. We will always however make effort to ensure that swimmers settle in as quickly as we can.
Need to wear a swim cap
No, not unless you want to, but we do have swim caps available to buy in our shop if you’d like to wear one. We do however always recommend long hair is tied back if not wearing a swim cap.
How many lessons per year?
We run a rolling program with lessons running continuously, 50 weeks a year, with 2 weeks off over the Christmas period.
How long does it take to learn to swim?
Everyone is different, and unfortunately there is no “average time” to learn to swim or even complete a level as speed of progress depends on so many different factors. In the early stages, often progress is in “fits and starts” whereby it can take a while to master a specific skill and there looks like minimal progress being made but once they can do it then that allows them to be able to do many other skills quickly.
Can I help my child progress quicker?
Yes! We need your help! In learning to swim there is unfortunately no shortcut for repetition so the more you can go “family swimming” in-between your lessons to practice what we teach, the quicker the process. Like anything, the more you do it the easier it becomes…..
What kind of tuition is available?
We offer tuition quite literally for all ages. From antenatal classes, to adult and baby classes, to adult and toddler classes, to core learn to swim for children, to core learn to swim for adults…… Regardless of age, we’ll get you swimming! Classes are small in size to give maximum benefit to participants, and 1-2-1 / 2-2-1 tuition available too.
