Our Team

It takes more than great teachers to make a swim school thrive. From experienced instructors and dedicated owners to our behind-the-scenes maintenance crew, every member of our team plays a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and well-run environment. We're proud to introduce the people who keep everything flowing—both in and out of the pool.

Ben Scott

The boss

My journey in the water began in Portobello, where I first learned toswim with Portobello ASC and later discovered my love for WaterPolo. It was through this sport that I met Keith, and our sharedpassion for aquatic sports sparked a lasting friendship and professional partnership. I went on to play semi-professional WaterPolo in Rome, an experience that deepened my dedication to the sport and shaped my approach to coaching.

After returning home, I joined Keith at Aquatic Learning as a swim teacher, where I found a true passion for helping others grow in confidence and skill in the water. Over the years, this journey hassled to a shared vision: to create an independent swim school where children can thrive, feel safe, and learn to love swimming from the very beginning.

Keith Anderson

Ben's bitch

I have a lifelong association with water having been involved in swimming and water polo since childhood. Initially, through my local swimming club Portobello ASC, and then going on to represent Scotland and Great Britain at many top Water Polo tournaments around the world.

  My swim teaching journey began in earnest when I set-up Aquatic Learning Ltd in 1996. A company with the primary aim being to provide high quality Swimming lessons, at affordable prices, for all ages and abilities. To meet this aim it decided from the start to offer 2 major differences to the lessons that were available elsewhere;

  1) That class sizes would be small to maximise the "teacher time" each swimmer received.

  2) That where required, teachers would be in the water working with the children in order to build water confidence, give demonstrations, and provide physical support if needed. Although this technique is more common place now it was almost unheard of back in 1996.  Indeed we feel this revolutionised childrens swimming lessons in Scotland! The company still runs successfully to this day, teaching over 2000 children each week at many venues across Edinburgh, the lothians, and Fife. As well as running Aquatic Learning I am also a qualified swim tutor, working for Scottish Swimming, (governing body), teaching people how to teach.

Having long been reliant on hiring facilities with Aquatic Learning I am delighted now to also be involved in LetsGoSwim. A business with it's own purpose built teaching facilties. Having taught and organised swimming tuition for so long, it has been a pleasure to help design facilities that I know provide the best opportunity for people to learn.
